What's new in Laksana since May 2026

Welcome to the first post in our weekly Laksana blog. Each week we'll share one practical idea for running maintenance on your sites. To start, here's what we've launched and improved since our last update on 22 May.

Laksana is a maintenance management system (CMMS), live in production, built for the people doing the work. Technicians, cleaners and guards report from whichever channel suits them: WhatsApp, Telegram, a QR scan on the spot, or your helpdesk page. Every report lands as one tracked job, there's no new app to install, and AI keeps the record.

In May we shared work updates, issue and SLA tracking, patrols, asset QR, inspections, preventive maintenance, Site 360 and reporting. Since then we've focused on two things: fewer steps for staff on site, and fewer jobs that managers lose track of.

New: one-tap replies in WhatsApp and Telegram

Staff can now answer Laksana in WhatsApp with one-tap buttons and short pick-lists. Laksana also works in Telegram, in direct chats or in groups linked to a site. To update or close an issue, staff quote its reference number in the chat.

New: every fault becomes an owned job

Work orders now sit alongside issues. They have a list, a board and a calendar with drag-to-reschedule. You can set approval rules, send contractors the job by link, and sign off finished work or send it back, even by chat reply. Labour, parts, downtime and failure codes are recorded with each job.

Improved: inspections that don't slip

Inspections can now run monthly, quarterly or semi-annually. Overdue checks escalate to the owner straight away. Checklists that need a photo ask for one before they close. A failed item can open a work order on its own, and reading rules flag values outside their limits.

New alongside it: a statutory certificate register sorted by soonest expiry, with reminders from 90 days out. Work update checklists come with reminders. Meter readings can be logged by QR, and out-of-range readings are flagged for a person to check.

Improved: scan an asset, see what's due

The asset QR page now shows the asset's open jobs with Start, Hold and Complete, its due inspections in order of urgency, and its certificates. You can renew a certificate or report a problem with a severity from the same page. Placards print at A4 or A5.

New: reports that arrive on their own

Each person gets one daily digest at the time you choose, plus a monthly summary. Saved reports can be sent on a schedule. Every photo for a period downloads as one organised ZIP, ready for a client or auditor.

New: facility bookings and fee collections

Bookings. If you rent out halls or courts, applicants book and pay on their phone, your officers approve in one queue, and the official receipt prints itself. See Bookings

Collections. If you bill residents or members, raise a batch of bills, let people pay by FPX or DuitNow QR, and reminders go out on their own. Every payer gets a numbered official receipt. See Collections

Also since May

  • SLA targets follow business hours, warn before a deadline, and let someone take the job from the warning (improved). Duplicate reports of one fault are linked to a single job (new).
  • Spare parts: stock-takes, barcode scan and low-stock alerts (new)
  • Closing notes take long remarks and several photos, photo watermarks carry the record reference, and patrol schedules flag missed rounds with a coverage report (improved)
  • Global search, an Issues board, an auditor read-only role, "my tasks" across workspaces, quiet hours and two-factor sign-in (new)

Some features depend on your plan and the modules switched on in your workspace.

Security and reliability: PDPA Compliant. TLS 1.2+ encryption, and data encrypted at rest. 99.5% monthly uptime guarantee (independently monitored).
